In order to meet the needs of domestic and overseas international students, Shanghai University will offer both online and face to face long-term intensive Chinese language courses in 2021 fall semester. The course is diverse teaching formats, rich in contents, provides timely after-school tutor, improves your Chinese in all aspects and bring you a taste of the charm of Chinese traditional culture! 1、Program Features
1.1 Various forms: Provides remote broadcast, video recording and face to face teaching formats for choice;
1.2 Rich contents: Improve the ability of Chinese expression, reading and writing, provide online academic lectures of Chinese Intangible Cultural Heritages.
1.3 After-school tutor: Teachers will track each students' progress, provide timely feedback and guidance on homework.
1.4 Free resources: Provides free courses recorded video and electronic learning materials, which can be viewed repeatedly anytime and anywhere.
Full live stream class, interaction with the teacher in a dynamic class atmosphere;
1.5 Provide transcript with credits and electronic completion certificate.
2、 Teaching Format and Location
2.1 Face to face teaching
International Students Teaching classrooms, Yanchang Campus, Shanghai University

SHU International Education Cloud Platform、VooV Meeting--Tencent Video Conferencing、WeChat

3、Program Contents
3.1 Program duration: September 6, 2021—January 7, 2022
18weeks in total, 20 class-hours per week

SHU provides five levels Chinese courses as following:
A level (Beginners), A+ level(Beginners) ,(B level (Elementary),C level (Pre-Intermediate),D level (Intermediate),E level ( Advanced). Students can choose the corresponding grade according to the self-test criteria.
3.5 Chinese traditional culture online academic lectures
SHU provides online academic lectures on traditional Chinese culture for international students, covering Intangible Cultural Heritages such as Chinese calligraphy, opera, music, embroidery, paper cutting, martial arts and tea art and other traditional cultures
4、 Program Certificate
An electronic transcript with 20 credits and an electronic completion certificate will be issued to student who successfully complete the program and pass the examinations.
5、 Procedures
5.1 Please follow the illustration of application procedure (Article 6).
5.2 Pay tuition fees, send payment proof (Remittance receipt or screenshot can
be used as proof) to email apply6@oa.shu.edu.cn before August 31,2021.
5.3 After receiving the confirmation email of your payment, SHU will send a self-test standard of Chinese proficiency. Students will assess their Chinese proficiency according to the standard, confirm their level, and inform the school before September 5.
5.4 September 6-10, the school will post course instructions. All new students should online registration. Students who participate in the online course should test the teaching platform.
5.5 Students can apply for class change within one week after the course starts.
Any group with less than five students will be merged.

Non-Chinese citizens with a valid foreign passport; graduated from high school or above; between 18 and 45 year’ old.
