About Shanghai University
Shanghai University is a member university of Project 211, co-sponsored by the Ministry of Education and Shanghai Municipality and is a research-intensive and comprehensive university. Program Lecturers
Mr. Liang Shen (申亮), PhD, Associate Professor and Director of Wshu Section, the School of Physical Education, Shanghai University. He respectively earned his Ph.D at the Department of Asian Studies, University College Cork, Ireland, and Master degree from Shanghai University of Sport. His research interests include sport history, traditional sports and culture studies. He is the author of over 10 academic papers. Funded by the Chinese hanban, he studied and worked in University College Cork, Ireland in 2009-2010 and 2012-2014. As a programme Director, he, along with his colleagues, currently mainly offer the course in the domain of wushu and traditional Chinese sports in Shanghai University. Contact: shenliang@t.shu.edu.cn
Mr. Chunyi Xu (徐春毅), PhD, Associate Professor at the School of Physical Education, Shanghai University. He earned his Ph.d Degree from Shanghai University of Sport. He is mainly interested in traditional Chinese sports and cultural studies. He has been teaching at 2011-2012. He mainly teaches courses on Wushu, Dragon Dance, Traditional Chinese Archery as a foreign language. Contact: xcy2008@shu.edu.cn
Ms. Min Sun(孙敏), Lecture at the School of Physical Education, Shanghai University. She holds a Master Degree from Shanghai University of Sport. He is mainly interested in traditional Chinese sports and cultural studies. She is a holder of sixth Duan Chinese Martial arts. She won a champion of Individual Six-item-all-round of Chinese Martial Arts, including Chang quan, Taichi chuan, sword, cudgel, spear and sparring. On behalf of the Shanghai University and the Shanghai University of Sport, she has visited and taught Chinese Martial Arts in USA, Korea and Japan for several times. As an wushu teacher of the School of Physical Education of Shanghai University, she mainly teaches courses on wushu, including sword(Jian shu) and Kungfu Fan. Contact: 451348515@qq.com
Ms. Xiuhong Gu(顾修红), Lecture at the School of Physical Education, Shanghai University. She has won many champions in Asian wushu Championships, National wushu champions, and earned National Master Sportsman title. She once represented the Chinese martial arts team in Taiwan to exchanges and teaching. Her research interesting is centered on scientific training and teaching, and currently participating in a provincial-level research project. She is good at Changquan, Sword(Jian) and Spear (qiang).
