Application Guide for International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship of Shanghai University in 2024
为满足国际社会对日益增长的中文教育类人才的需求，促进世界各国中文教育的发展，助力国际中文教育人才的成长，教育部中外语言交流合作中心设立国际中文教师奖学金，聚焦培养合格的海外中文教师。优秀学生和在职中文教师可被推荐到上海大学学习和进修国际中文教育及相关专业。
To meet the growing international demand for Chinese language teachers, facilitate Chinese language education around the world, and support the professional development of Chinese language teachers, the Center for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC) has established the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship (hereinafter referred to as the Scholarship) for eligible Chinese language teachers outside of China.Outstanding students and in-service Chinese language teachers can be recommended to further studies in international Chinese language education and related programs at Shanghai University(SHU).

Founded in 1922, SHU is a comprehensive university under the Shanghai Municipal People's Government and the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. SHU has a modern campus, excellent dormitory conditions, complete sports facilities, direct subway access, and convenient transportation.
一、资助对象Eligibility
1. 非中国籍人士；
Be a non-Chinese citizen;
2. 对华友好，无违法犯罪记录，遵守中国政府的法律、法规和学校的规章制度；
Be friendly to China, have no criminal record, abide by the laws and regulations of China and the rules and regulations of the Host Institution;
3. 身心健康，品学兼优；
Be in good physical and mental health, be in good academic and behavioral standing;
4. 有志于从事中文教育、教学及相关工作；
Be interested in Chinese language education and related work;
5. 年龄为16-35 周岁（统一以2024年9月1日计）。在职中文教师放宽至45周岁，本科奖学金申请者一般不超过 25周岁。
Be aged between 16 and 35 years on September 1, 2024. The maximum age limit for in-service Chinese teachers may be extended to 45, but those who apply for a scholarship for a Bachelor’s degree shall be younger than 25 under most circumstances.
二、奖学金类别及申请条件Categories and Qualifications
1. 国际中文教育专业硕士研究生
Scholarship for Master’s Degree in International Chinese Language Education
2024年 9月入学，资助期限为2年。
The program commences in September 2024, and the scholarship is provided for a maximum of two academic years.
具有大学本科学历。汉语考试成绩达到 HSK（五级）210 分、HSKK（中级）60 分。提供毕业后拟任教机构工作协议或相关证明者优先。
Applicants shall hold a Bachelor’s degree. Applicants shall have a minimum score of 210 on the HSK Test (Level 5) and 60 on the HSKK test (Intermediate Level). Priority will be given to applicants who may provide an employment contract with a teaching institution upon completing their studies in China or proof to the same effect.
2. 国际中文教育专业本科生
Scholarship for Bachelor’s Degree in International Chinese Language Education
2024年9月入学，资助期限为4年。
The program commences in September 2024, and the scholarship is provided for a maximum of four academic years.
具有高中学历。汉语考试成绩达到 HSK（四级）210分、HSKK（中级）60 分。
Applicants shall hold a senior high school diploma and have a minimum score of 210 on the HSK Test (Level 4) and 60 on the HSKK test (Intermediate Level).
3.一学年研修生
Scholarship for One-Year Study Program
2024年9月入学，资助期限为11个月。
The program commences in September 2024, and the scholarship is provided for a maximum of eleven months.
国际中文教育方向，汉语考试成绩达到 HSK（三级）270 分，具有 HSKK 成绩；汉语言文学、中国历史、中国哲学等方向，汉语考试成绩达到 HSK（四级）180 分、HSKK（中级）60 分；汉语研修方向，汉语考试成绩达到 HSK（三级）210 分，提供 HSKK 成绩者优先。
Applicants of international Chinese language education programs shall have a minimum score of 270 on the HSK test (Level 3), and an HSKK test score is required. Applicants of Chinese language and literature, Chinese history, or Chinese philosophy programs shall have a minimum score of 180 on the HSK test (Level 4) and 60 on the HSKK test (Intermediate Level). Applicants of Chinese language study programs shall have a minimum score of 210 on the HSK test (Level 3), and priority will be given to applicants who provide an HSKK test score.
4.一学期研修生
Scholarship for One-Semester Study Program
2024年9月、2025年3月入学，资助期限为5个月。
The program commences either in September 2024 or March 2025, and the scholarship is provided for a maximum of five months.
国际中文教育、汉语言文学、中国历史、中国哲学等方向，汉语考试成绩达到 HSK（三级）180 分，具有HSKK 成绩；中医、太极文化方向，具有 HSK 成绩，同时提供 HSKK 成绩者优先。
Applicants of international Chinese language education, Chinese language and literature, Chinese history, or Chinese philosophy programs shall have a minimum score of 180 on the HSK test (Level 3), and an HSKK test score is required. Applicants of traditional Chinese medicine or Taiji culture programs are required to provide HSK test scores, and priority will be given to those who also provide an HSKK test score.
5. 四周研修生
Scholarship for Four-Week Study Program
2024年7月或12月入学，资助期限为4周。
The program commences either in July or December 2024, and the scholarship is provided for a maximum of four weeks.
汉语研修、中医、太极文化、汉语言+中国家庭体验等方向，具有 HSK 成绩。可由推荐机构组团进行报名，并事先联系接收院校确定在华学习计划，提前报中心审批，每团10-15 人。
Applicants of Chinese language study, traditional Chinese medicine, Taiji culture, or Chinese language plus homestay with a Chinese family program are required to provide an HSK test score. The program may be organized and applied for by a Recommending Institution with 10-15 participants per group. Before the trip, a detailed study plan shall be made in consultation with the Host Institution(s) and such plan shall be submitted to CLEC for review and approval.
三、申请材料List of Application Materials
1.与所有申请者有关的证明材料：
For all applicants:
（1）护照照片页扫描件
A scanned copy of the passport photo page;
（2）HSK、HSKK 成绩报告（有效期两年）扫描件
A scanned copy of score reports of the HSK/HSKK tests (within the two-year validity);
（3）推荐机构负责人的推荐信
A reference letter by the head of the Recommending Institution.
2.与学历生有关的证明材料：
For degree program applicants:
(1)提供最高学历证明（毕业预期证明）和在校学习成绩单。
A certificate of the highest diploma (or proof of expected graduation) and an official transcript.
(2)国际中文教育专业硕士须提供两名副教授以上职称导师的推荐信。提供毕业后拟任教机构工作协议者优先资助。
Applicants of the Scholarship for a Master’s Degree in International Chinese Language Education are required to provide two reference letters from professors or associate professors. Priority will be given to applicants who may provide an employment contract with a teaching institution upon completing their studies in China.
3.在职中文教师须附上就职机构出具的在职证明和推荐信。
In-service Chinese language teachers shall provide proof of employment and a reference letter from the employer.
4.未满 18 周岁的申请者，须提交在华监护人署名的委托证明文件。
Applicants under 18 shall provide certified documents of designation signed by their entrusted legal guardians in China.
备注 Remarks
1. 申请材料中非中文或英文的文件，需附公证或发证单位的中文/英文翻译件；
Documents in the application materials that are not in Chinese or English must be attached with notarization or Chinese/English translation of the issuing unit;
2. 材料申请时仅需要上传电子文件（PDF 或JPG格式），开学报到时需提供原件备查；
Only the electronic files (PDF or JPG format) need to be uploaded when applying for materials, and the originals must be provided for reference when the journal is opened;
3. 不接受纸质申请材料。
Paper application materials are not accepted.
四、申请流程Application Procedures
2024年3月1日起，申请者可登录中外语言交流合作中心网站（http://www.chinese.cn）国际中文教师奖学金板块申请，并登录上海大学网申系统（https://apply.shu.edu.cn/）同步申请。
Online registration will be available from March 1, 2024 on the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship website (http://www.chinese.cn) and Shanghai University application website (https://apply.shu.edu.cn/).
1. 登录奖学金网站和上海大学网申系统，在线提交申请材料；
Log in to the scholarship website and submit the application materials online;
2. 推荐单位审核申请材料；
Recommend the unit to review the application materials;
3. 上海大学审核申请材料，并对符合标准的申请人进行视频面试；
Shanghai University reviews the application materials and conducts video interviews for the applicants who meet the standards;
4. 中心委托专家组集中评审：根据 HSK、HSK考分和级别，兼顾国别等因素择优资助，于入学前约3个月完成奖学金评审工作，发布评审结果；
CLEC will entrust an expert panel to review the applications. Decisions will be made based on HSK and HSKK scores and levels, and in consideration of country distribution as well as other factors. The results will be published about three months before school starts;
5. 申请者关注申请进程、审核意见与奖学金评审结果；
Applicants pay attention to the application process, review opinions and scholarship evaluation results;
6. 上海大学对预录取的申请者发放入学通知书；
Shanghai University will issue admission notices to applicants who are pre-admitted;
7. 预录取的申请者可按照入学通知书上的要求，在规定时间内前往上海大学报到。
Applicants for pre-admission can report to Shanghai University within the specified time according to the requirements of the admission notice.
五、截止日期（以北京时间为准）Application Deadlines (Beijing Time)
1．7月入学：学生申请截止日期为4月15日，推荐机构、接收院校审核截止日期为4月25日；
For programs commencing in July, applicants must complete their applications by April 15, and Recommending Institutions and Host Institutions must complete the review by April 25.
2．9月入学：学生申请截止日期为5月15日，推荐机构、接收院校审核截止日期为5月25日；
For programs commencing in September, applicants must complete their applications by May 15, and Recommending Institutions and Host Institutions must complete the review by May 25.
3．12月入学：学生申请截止日期为9月15日，推荐机构、接收院校审核截止日期为9月25日；
For programs commencing in December, applicants must complete their applications by September 15, and Recommending Institutions and Host Institutions must complete the review by September 25.
4．2025年3月入学：学生申请截止日期为10月31日，推荐机构、接收院校审核截止日期为11月10日。
For programs commencing in March 2025, applicants must complete their applications by October 31, and Recommending Institutions and Host Institutions must complete the review by November 10.
六、关于在职中文教师和汉语桥获奖者Policies Regarding In-Service Chinese Language Teachers And hinese Bridge Winners
1.在职中文教师In-Service Chinese Language Teachers:在职中文教师申请各类奖学金，可提供就职机构出具的在职证明和推荐信，同等条件下优先录取。In-service Chinese language teachers need to provide proof of employment and a letter of recommendation from the employer.
2.汉语桥获奖者Chinese Bridge Winners:在各类汉语桥比赛中获得“国际中文教师奖学金证书”者,登录国际中文教师奖学金网站，凭奖学金证书向上海大学提交申请材料。Applicants who have received the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship Certificate during Chinese Bridge competitions need to submit their application documents along with their scholarship certificates to SHU directly at the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship website.
七、其他Other Matters
1. 一学期研修项目和一学年研修项目原则上不录取3年内享受过同类奖学金的申请者。
In principle, applicants who have received a similar scholarship within three years are not eligible for the One-Semester Study Program or One-Year Study Program.
2. 相关专业培养方案与教学课程，可咨询上海大学。

3. 申请者须了解上海大学的具体招生条件及报名截止时间，按照相关规定提交申请材料
Applicants shall be familiar with the admission criteria and application deadlines of SHU and submit necessary documents accordingly.
4. 学历生须参加年度评审，详见《国际中文教师奖学金年度评审办法》
Degree students are subject to the annual assessment according to the Annual Assessment Procedures of the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship.
5.相关入学等事宜，请及时联系上海大学。
Please contact SHU for enrollment matters.
6. 入学体检不合格、中途退学及未经许可不按时报到、休学等情况，取消奖学金资格。
Students who fail to pass the pre-enrollment medical examination, withdraw from school before completing the program, fail to register at the university without prior permission, or suspend their studies will be disqualified for the scholarship.

国际中文教师奖学金资助内容及标准
奖学金资助内容包括：学费、住宿费、生活费(四周研修生除外)和综合医疗保险费。
1.学费由接收院校统筹用于奖学金生的培养与管理，开展文化活动，组织参加汉语考试等。奖学金线上项目仅资助学费。
2.住宿费由接收院校统筹使用，为学生提供免费宿舍，
一般为双人间；经奖学金生申请、接收院校批准，选择校外住宿者，由学校按月或季度发放住宿费，博士生标准为1000 元人民币/月，其他类奖学金生为700元人民币/月。
3.生活费由接收院校按月发放。本科生、一学年和一学期研修生标准为2500元人民币/月；国际中文教育专业硕士生为3000元人民币/月；国际中文教育专业博士生为3500元人民币1月。
奖学金生按接收院校录取通知书规定的时间入学报到，否则取消奖学金资格。当月15日(含15日)前到校注册者，当月发放全额生活费；15日以后注册者，当月发放半月生活费。
奖学金生在学期间(不含寒暑假)因个人原因离开中国时间超过15天者，停发离华期间生活费。
奖学金生因个人原因休学、退学或受接收院校纪律处分者，停发自休学、退学或接到处分通知之日起的生活费。毕(结)业生的生活费发放至学校确定的毕(结)业日
期后的半个月。
4.综合医疗保险费参照中国教育部来华留学有关规定
执行，由接收院校统一购买。四周研修生标准为100元人民币/人，一学期研修生为400元人民币/人，一学年以上标准为800元人民币/年/人。
Appendix 1
Coverage and Standard for the International Chinese Language
Teachers Scholarship
The scholarship supports tuition, accommodation, living allowance (excluding four-week study program students) and comprehensive medical insurance.
a) The Host Institutions use the tuition fees for the education and management of scholarship recipients, cultural programming and HSK tests. The scholarships for online programs provide support for tuition fees only.
b) The Host Institutions use the accommodation fees to provide scholarship recipients with free on-campus accommodation (typically double rooms). Scholarship recipients may live off-campus upon application and approval from the Host Institutions. Under such circumstances, doctoral students are entitled to an accommodation allowance of RMB 1000 per person/month,and other students are
entitled to RMB 700 per person/month paid on a monthly/quarterly basis by the Host Institutions.
c)The living allowance is paid to the scholarship recipients by the Host Institutions on a monthly basis.The monthly allowance for undergraduates,one-year study program students and one-semester study program students is RMB 2,500 per person; that for master’s students in International Chinese Language Education is RMB 3,000 per person; and that for doctoral students in International Chinese Language Education is RMB 3,500 per person.
Scholarship recipients must register with the university within the periodstipulated in the Letter of Admission. Otherwise, the scholarship will be revoked. Students registered before the 15th (inclusive) of the month are entitled to the full allowance of that month,while those who are registered after the 15th are entitled to half of the amount.
If a scholarship recipient leaves China for more than 15 days for personal reasons during the study period (excluding summer and winter vacations), the living allowance during the period of absence from China will be suspended.
If a scholarship recipient is suspended or withdrawn from school for personal reasons or is subject to disciplinary action by the Host Institution, the living allowance from the date of suspension, withdrawal,or notification of disciplinary action will be suspended.
The living allowance for graduating students is paid until half a month after the graduation date set by the Host Institution.
d) The comprehensive medical insurance is purchased by the Host Institutions in accordance with applicable regulations on overseas students stipulated by the Ministry of Education of China. The insurance premium for four-week study program students is RMB100 perperson,that for one-semester study program students is RMB400CNY per person, and that for students studying more than one year is RMB 800 per person/year.
