About Shanghai University and SILC Business School:
Shanghai University (SHU) is a member university of Project 211, co-sponsored by the
Ministry of Education and Shanghai Municipality and is a research-intensive and
comprehensive university. SHU has 26 colleges and 2 independent departments, covering a
wide range of disciplines: natural science, engineering, literature, history, philosophy,

Founded in 1994, SILC Business School(SILC)is a cooperative educational venture jointly owned by Shanghai University (SHU) in China and the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) in Australia. By bringing together the best of SHU and UTS, integrating high-quality educational resources from abroad, and adhering to strict quality assurance measures, SILC is one of the earliest Sino-foreign cooperative schools in China. In February 2020, SILC received the AACSB accreditation, placing SILC in the top 5% of business schools in the world.
About the Online English Language Bridging Program
The Online English Language Bridging program will provide international students an
opportunity of direct entry into the first year of Undergraduate or Postgraduate study
delivered in English language at Shanghai University. The Program is tailored for
conditionally-admitted international students who are academically admissible but have not
achieved the required IELTS or TOEFL scores, or cannot attend English Language Tests
because of Covid-19. It prepares students to meet the English language proficiency
requirements for their degree program at Shanghai University. Upon successfully completing
all of the courses, the students will receive a certificate of completion and be admitted directly
to the degree program. By attending the program, besides developing the English language
and academic literacy skills, it will also help the students build a strong network with their
peers and enhance their ability to participate in the wider university community.
Highlights of the Program
Delivered by native-speaking SILC Senior English language lecturers.
Live stream classes with a heavy emphasis on small groupwork.
Academic counselling and academic workshops.
Transcripts and a certificate will be issued to students who successfully complete the program.Eligible to receive SILC Bridging Program Scholarship.

Application Requirements
Eligibility: International students who have achieved IELTS 5.5, TOEFL (iBT) 75 or Duolingo 90 or above and are academically admitted by Shanghai University’s Degree Program.

Application Process
Step 1: Login http://apply.shu.edu.cn. Click“apply now”.
Step 2: Submit the application for degree program, and then get the conditional pre-admission notice.
Step 3: Submit the application for the SILC Online International English Language Bridging Program in the application system, upload the conditional pre-admission notice.
Step 4: Finish the payment of the program fees.
Step 5: Wait for the admission result.
Transcripts and Certificate
On completion of the program, the student will be awarded official transcripts and a program certificate from SILC, SHU.

The SILC Bridging Program Scholarship
International students who have successfully completed the program and successfully
enrolled into a SILC Degree Program will be eligible to receive the SILC Bridging Program Scholarship which is 20% of thestudent’s first year tuition fee at SILC if they are self-fund.
