Scholarship Supporting Categories and MajorsIn order to strengthen mutual understanding and friendship between the Chinese and people around the world and promote China’s exchange and cooperation with other countries in various fields, the Chinese government sets up scholarships for talented students and scholars to pursue higher education or conduct research in Chinese universities. The China Scholarship Council (hereinafter referred to as “CSC”), entrusted by China’s Ministry of Education, is responsible for the admission, enrollment and administration of Chinese Government Scholarship recipients. Chinese Government Scholarship University Postgraduate Program is a full scholarship established by Ministry of Education of China to support Chinese universities to recruit outstanding international students for graduate studies in China.  This scholarship program is only for new international students of Master and Doctoral Programs.  Majors under this scholarship program: No Limit （Please refer to application guide for graduate programs）3. Scholarship Coverage Tuition fees in the standard length of schooling Free university dormitory or accommodation subsidy (CNY 700/month for master students; CNY 1,000/month for PhD.); Stipend: Master’s students CNY 3,000/month; Doctoral students CNY3,500/month.  Comprehensive medical insurance: CNY 800 per person per year;Notes： Stipend is monthly paid by Shanghai University. Scholarship Eligibility Applicants are required to meet the following conditions:4.1 Basic Eligibility To be eligible, applicants should be non-Chinese citizens with a valid ordinary-type passport, and in good health. 4.2 Language Proficiency4.2.1 If you are applying for Chinese-taught programs, HSK certificates within two years are required (HSK refers to Chinese Proficiency Test. These who apply by agencies will be disqualified from scholarship. 7.2 Scholarship recipients must complete the registration and enrollment on scheduled time in accordance with the university regulations. Those who miss the deadline without approval will be disqualified from scholarship. 7.3 Scholarship recipients must bring all original documents for registration. Decisions will be made based on HSK and HSKK scores and levels, and in consideration of country distribution as well as other factors.
